The Monster employment index fell to 133 in January from 140 in December. The report says annual growth in the index is at 9 percent, in line with the 4th-quarter trend. Online recruitment for transportation & warehousing, retail, and wholesale remain strong with public administration weak. Manufacturing eased in the month.

Definition
The Monster Employment Index is a comprehensive monthly analysis of U.S. online job demand. It is conducted by Monster Worldwide, Inc. and is based on a real-time review of a large, representative selection of career sites and job boards, including Monster," according to Monster Worldwide.
