Highlights
Same-store sales weakened yet further in the Jan. 10 week, down 2.3 percent from the prior week and down 2.2 percent from the year-ago week. ICSC-Goldman said consumers seemed to be resolved to curb their shopping, that combined with bad weather and falling use of gift cards made for the worse single week in more than two years. The report expects sales for the month of January to drop 2 to 3 percent. Redbook is up next.
